UCPUBS
Publishing support for UC academic programs and faculty
UCPUBS, a joint program of the California Digital Library (CDL) and the University of California Press, provides a comprehensive range of publishing support, services, guidance, and information to all campuses within the University of California system. UCPUBS supports traditional and open access publishing in all disciplines.
Whether you're interested in print, ebook and/or open access publishing, UCPUBS can develop a customized publishing services plan for books, journals, conference proceedings, reports, and other professional content you manage.
Services include editorial and design support, print-on-demand manufacturing, ebook creation, global fulfillment, journal management tools, open access repository platforms, usage statistics, and long-term preservation. These services (and more) are available à la carte or as an end-to-end scalable publishing infrastructure.
Choose one or both pathways to fit your publishing needs.
- For open access publishing and hosting of journals, conference proceedings, reports, and other academic content, visit CDL’s eScholarship program or contact the eScholarship publication team at help@escholarship.org. These services are appropriate for non-print, non-commercial works requiring a sustainable, standards-aligned open access platform to maximize visibility, discoverability, and long-term access to content.
- For Fulfillment and Distribution Services of commercially sold publications and Editorial and Production Services for all academic and practitioner-facing scholarly content visit Publishing Services @ UC Press. Editorial and Production services are available as single services or can combine to create a fully integrated publishing workflow. To learn more, contact Elizabeth Scarpelli, Publishing Services @ UC Press Program Manager.
