FirstGen

UC Press FirstGen Titles
Emerging from a recognition of inequities in scholarly publishing and in alignment with the larger mission of the University of California, the FirstGen Program at UC Press seeks to cultivate new and under-represented voices through financial support and access to publishing resources. Defined as the first in their family to receive a college degree, first-gen authors bring diverse perspectives to their writing and scholarship, contributing to key intellectual debates across disciplines. We are proud to partner with these first-gen scholars on bringing these important and exciting projects into the world.
